SINGAPORE-BASED developers and projects won eight awards at the inaugural 2011 South East Asia Property Awards.

Far East Organization won two awards – for being the best developer in Singapore and also in South-east Asia. UOL Group’s Nassim Park Residences also picked up two awards. It was recognised as the best condo development in both Singapore and South-east Asia.

Keppel Land’s Ocean Financial Centre was named the best shared ownership development in South-east Asia, while YTL Singapore’s Sandy Island was named the best housing development in Singapore.

Sandy Island won another award for having the best architectural design in South-east Asia, and the architecture company behind it, Claudio Silvestrin Architects, was recognised.

Ho Kwon Ping, executive chairman of Banyan Tree Holdings, picked up the Real Estate Personality of the Year (South East Asia) award.

Ensign Media, publisher of Property Report South East Asia magazine, launched the awards to recognise the best of the region’s residential real estate industry. The awards were given out at a gala dinner and presentation ceremony at Singapore’s Hotel Fort Canning last night.

‘The South-east Asia region has some of the world’s most innovative and interesting property developments, designed by architects and built by developers whose reputations are known globally,’ said Terry Blackburn, chief executive of Ensign Media.
