About Developer (Ireka)

Developer of Exceptional Leadership Founded in 1967, Ireka Corporation Berhad (‘Ireka’) is a company listed on the Main Board of Bursa Malaysia.

The Group’s activities are divided into three core businesses: Infrastructure, Real Estate and Technologies.

Ireka Corporation Berhad started its business as Syarikat Lai Siew Wah, a sole proprietor undertaking general earthworks such as site-clearings and road works construction throughout Malaysia, as a sub-contractor initially and later as a sole contractor.

In the 1970s, Ireka expanded its fleet of plants and machineries and began to take on large-scale construction works.

It emerged as one of the largest local earthwork contractors in Malaysia notable projects such as the Kuala Lumpur International Airport runway, sections of the Kuala Lumpur Middle-Ring Road II and North-South Expressway, Triang Water Treatment Plant, Putrajaya Government Administrative Offices, DiGi Corporate Office (D’House), Technology Park Malaysia and The Westin Kuala Lumpur.

Within its Real Estate business, Ireka successfully pioneered the listing of Aseana Properties Limited (‘Aseana’), a first-of-its-kind property fund, on the London Stock Exchange in 2007.

To undertake property development activities in Malaysia and Vietnam. Ireka’s wholly-owned subsidiary, Ireka Development Sdn Bhd (‘IDM’), is the exclusive Development Manager for Aseana.
In Malaysia, Ireka’s and Aseana’s property development portfolio include luxurious residential resort SENI Mont’ Kiara, serviced residences i-ZEN@Kiara I and i-ZEN@Kiara II, gated and guarded courtyard homes i-ZEN@Villa Aseana, luxury condominiums of Kiaraville and Tiffani by i-ZEN and offices and retail mall 1Mont’ Kiara.

These projects are located in the exclusive address of Mont’ Kiara. Ireka and Aseana are also involved in the urban redevelopment of Sandakan Harbour Square, residential townhouses of Luyang Perdana in Sabah and office and hotel developments in KL Sentral.

In Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, Aseana’s property development portfolio includes The International Hi-Tech Healthcare Park, Queen’s Place (District 4), deluxe high rise residences (District 7), and luxury riverside residences, the Waterside Estates.

Ireka’s and Aseana’s hotel portfolio and hotel development track record includes the award winning The Westin Kuala Lumpur, the waterfront Four Points Sheraton Sandakan, and the soon-to-be-opened, chic Aloft Kuala Lumpur Sentral.

The 452-room Westin Kuala Lumpur was sold in early 2007 for a record price of approximately RM1 million per room.

For the past 40 years, Ireka’s construction and engineering teams have achieved a number of significant milestones, contributing to nation-building through the plethora of major-sized civil and structural engineering projects.
Our areas of expertise cover highways and expressways, bridges, tunnels, water treatment plants, golf courses, commercial developments, condominiums, shopping malls, healthcare park, and harbour development which are delivered through general contracting and design & build programmes.

Ireka’s building works activities have primarily been focused on residential and commercial buildings, factories, laboratories, convention halls, luxury resort clubhouses as well as leisure and recreational projects.

Ireka also took pride in being the Malaysian franchise holder in the 1990s to implement the Autopont (highway bridge) fast-track pre-fabricated steel flyover construction system and the Sosrobahu technique, a construction system which enables the construction of elevated flyovers in high density urban areas thus minimising traffic disruption and public inconvenience.
